Duruflé’s Requiem and Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs

Two composers capture eternal longings in an imperfect world: Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem,  expresses serenity, writing amid the chaos of post-war Paris, followed by Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs, four poetic meditations including “Love Bade Me Welcome” and the joyful call to “Let all the world In ev’ry corner sing.” And so we will!
