On this day in 1742 the most popular choral work in the world premiered in Dublin. Until the covid-19 pandemic shuttered the performances spaces, it was performed regularly around the globe, certainly at Christmas, but occasionally at Easter. SBCS performed selections of Parts I, II, and III in an Easter Messiah at Hahn Hall in 2016 with a quartet of soloists from the Music Academy Summer Music program.
