Endowment and Planned Giving

65 years of singing and counting, guaranteeing the future of choral music in Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara Choral Society Opens Endowment Fund
at the Santa Barbara Foundation

To celebrate 65 years of choral singing, the Santa Barbara Choral Society Board of Directors has created the SBCS Endowment Fund held at the Santa Barbara Foundation.  As a loyal supporter, you have experienced the transformative power of 100+ voices joined in song.  Now, we hope you will consider a special gift to the Santa Barbara Choral Society Endowment Fund.

With the establishment of an endowment fund, our aim is to fulfill our mission and to endow future Santa Barbara generations with the same high quality choral music that the community has enjoyed for the past 65 years.  Proceeds from the endowment will also allow us to expand our outreach and education programs to community members who have yet to experience the power of choral music.  By partnering with the Santa Barbara Foundation we have a variety of benefits that as a stand-alone fund we would not have, such as professional oversight of investments and access to a large, diversified investment portfolio.

The inclusion of a provision for the SBCS Endowment Fund in your estate plan offers you the satisfaction of knowing that future generations in Santa Barbara will benefit from your generosity and wisdom as they too experience the gift of choral music.

If you are interested in making a bequest to the SB Choral Society Endowment Fund, below is sample text to be included in your estate plan:

I bequeath ____________________________(describe dollar amount, real property commonly known as _______________, or proportion of your residuary estate) to the Santa Barbara Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable foundation located in Santa Barbara, California, 93101, to be added to the Santa Barbara Choral Society Endowment Fund, a component fund of the Santa Barbara Foundation, and I direct that this bequest become part of this Fund.
